couple
activities
We believe in having memorable fun during a retreat. Couples have the opportunity to engage in challenging activities that focus on communication and trust. Couples are able to connect with other couples over a bond fire while playing couple's games.

Below are a few memorable activities.

Remember, God ordained marriage, and He loves you both immensely!
Active Communication
"Blind Mines"
This activity called for trust and effective communication as one partner coached the other blind folded spouse through the maze. The couple that coaches their spouse to the end of the end of the maze without stepping on a mine wins.

"Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it" Luke 11:28 With this activity the Blindfold represents us needing a guide. We need to be quiet and really listen to know the instructions. When we listen to the voice leading us we stay on the right path. In contrast when we don't listen or move too rashly, we fall off the path that leads to success in life.
"Tied as One"
In this activity couples were tied together by one arm and were timed as they folded a king sized sheet. The couple that folded the sheet with the quickest time won. This couple required coordination, clear communication and direction.
"Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many." 1 Corinthians 12:14- The body is not supported by one person, but by all of us. We are one, we are strongest working together in unity. Operating as one is the key to living life in harmony, so that we can do God's will.
"Back to Back Challenge"
In this activity couples are seated back to back and one spouse describes the shape displayed on a card. The other spouse constructs as the spouse gives clues, without naming the object. The couple that constructs the shape the closest within the given time frame wins, This activity focused heavily on verbal communication and listening skills.
Take Aways
How well did the spouse describe the shape to their partner?
How well did the receiving spouse understand the instructions and how close were they to duplicating the actual shape of the picture?

"If one gives an answer before he hears, it is folly and shame." Proverbs 18:13
"Crown One Another"
This was not just a art and craft activity. Couples were supplied with a variety of jewels, lace, beads a variety of resources to design a crown for their spouse. Each spouse later crowned one another during the formal dinner evening.
Many have been stored away or even lost, but crowns received in heaven will be cast before Jesus feet Revelation 4:10 We will lay them down as a tribute to the One who created us, saved us, gifted us, equipped us and lives in us! Everything good and right comes to us through the Lord, so surely He deserves our crowns!
